Action and Indication: This formula regulates Heat and Cold; soothes the Stomach; suppresses the ascension of the Stomach Qi. It is used to help a person who has Heat in the chest and Coldness in the Stomach. Related symptoms are: sensation of fullness, oppression and/or irritating heat in the chest; nausea; vomiting; hiccup; pain in the stomach and abdomen; fever and slight chills; rumbling sound in the abdomen; diarrhea; acute stomach and intestinal inflammation; stomach hyperacidity; oral cavity inflammation; bad breath due to stomach dysfunction. Tongue usually has a white slippery coating. Pulse is usually wiry.
