Action and Indication: This formula warms and tonifies the Spleen Yang and Stomach Yang; helps relieve spasmodic pain in the abdomen; directs rebellious Qi to descend. It is used to help a person who has Spleen and Stomach Yang Deficiency accompanied by excruciating pain in the abdomen. Related symptoms are: unable to eat; cold sensation in the epigastric region; stomach pain; weak and cold extremities; vomiting; severe pain in the epigastrium and abdomen. Tongue usually has a white and greasy coating, tongue proper is pale or dark purple. Pulse is usually wiry and slow or deep and thin.
