The "DX" option offers a deeper 18 lb. carbon filter for enhanced adsorption of airborne toxins, a micro-HEPA for particles and an easy-clean pre-filter.
The extra deep-bed Vocarb blend carbon filter provides enhanced adsorption of smaller VOC's like formaldehyde and benzene that are difficult to trap. Tip: VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds, molecular gases such as formaldehyde and ammonia that are extremely dangerous for your health. AllerAir produces the VOCARB line of air purifiers designed with specially blended carbon to specifically deal with VOC's.

AllerAir units have metal housing, not plastic ones, and are designed with powder-coated paint, preventing any off gassing.
